Dockside InnWe only have six rooms, but each offers the amenities of a fine inn at motel prices. Wake in the morning right on Southwest Harbor. At Dockside every room has an unobstructed view of the harbor and the mountains of Acadia National Park - along with cable TV, wireless internet and the amenities you might expect at a fine inn. If your plans call for a kitchenette, please let us know when making reservations. The Inn rooms are also available on the American Plan and there are special plans for hikers and kayakers. The Inn is located just 50 feet from the Southwest Harbor town dock and just down the road from the headquarters of The Hinckley Company, makers of some of the most magnificent yachts in the world. On most days you'll see kayakers putting in at the boat ramp to enjoy the waters of Sommes Sound, or to take a trip to Northeast Harbor or the Cranberry Islands. And at the dock you'll see lobstermen and the island ferry coming and going, while out in the harbor Hinckley's luxury sail boats are getting under way. In other words, there's simply no better place to end or start a new summer day. |
Blame It On Rio!
Open for lunch & dinner everyday except Tuesdays, 11:30am to10pm, for true Brazilian fare, some American dishes with a Brazilian flare, and some dishes as American as the hamburger. The Caipirinha Bar will feature all your favorite drinks as well as luscious libations from Rio, such as the concoction which lends its name to the bar. There is also beer and wine and a true Cariocan juice bar which offers some of the best non alcoholic drinks you'll ever taste. |
